On Passion

Sister, lover, burning bright
In the shadows of the night,
What immortal hand or eye
Could frame thy fearful symmetry?

In what distant deeps or skies
Burnt the fire of thine eyes?
On what wings dare she aspire?
What the hand dare seize the fire?

--An appreciation of Blake by HB.

(No, this is not about making love to one's sister.. but feelings for one's lover -- and perhaps for the female half of humankind -- as close as a sibling (or a "Soul-Sister") language perhaps recalls the 1960s one of whose song lyrics is: "I can tell my sister, by the flowers in her eyes, I can tell my brother, by the flower in his eyes, on the road to Shambala." In contrast? to that 60s song, however, the above poem is intended erotically as well)
